Charging slower than usual
Slow charging is not always a fault: power depends on the vehicle, the battery, the settings and the sharing between several chargers.
Safety first
- Never open the charger or the electrical panel: only a qualified person may work on it.
- Burning smell, abnormal heat, smoke or crackling: stop charging from the vehicle or the app, do not touch the charger again and have a professional cut its power.
- In case of smoke or flames, move away and call 112.
- Never force out a hot or damaged cable.
What you can safely check
- Look at the power shown by the vehicle or the app, and at the charge limit set in the vehicle.
- Charging normally slows down when the battery is nearly full, or when it is very cold or very hot.
- If several vehicles charge on the same installation, or if the house is drawing a lot, the power may be shared or reduced.
When to request a visit
- The power stays clearly lower than usual, with the same vehicle and in the same conditions.
- Charging stops or restarts for no reason.
- The cable or the socket gets hot: stop immediately and request a visit.
