Badge not recognised by the charger
A refused badge may come from the badge itself, its rights with the issuer, the charger’s reader or its link to the network that authorises charging.
Safety first
- Never open the charger or the electrical panel: only a qualified person may work on it.
- Burning smell, abnormal heat, smoke or crackling: stop charging from the vehicle or the app, do not touch the charger again and have a professional cut its power.
- In case of smoke or flames, move away and call 112.
- Never force out a hot or damaged cable.
What you can safely check
- Check that it is the right badge and that it is neither expired nor blocked by its issuer.
- Hold it flat on the reader, with no other card nearby.
- Try starting the charge with the app, if the charger allows it.
When to request a visit
- No badge is read, not even one that used to work.
- The reader no longer lights up.
- For an operator: the charger no longer reports authorisations.
